Mentionlytics posted its refund policy on February 11, 2026. A monthly plan gets no refund for the current billing period, and a yearly plan gets nothing back after day 30. Basic costs you $59 a month on monthly billing. That buys 3 keyword rules, 5,000 mentions and a refresh every 12 hours.
The step up is where you feel it. Continuous refresh starts on Advanced at $299 a month, and Pro billed yearly comes to $4,992 paid up front. Reviewers on Software Advice wrote about low mention limits and slow updates, though those reviews date from 2023 and need a fresh test. So you choose a quota before you know your volume, and the refund terms leave you little room to correct it.
Your mention volume and how fast you need new results matter more than the feature count at this price.
This post compares 7 alternatives on price, quotas, refund terms and dated user reviews.
TL;DR: 7 Mentionlytics Alternatives, Sorted by How You Pay for Volume#
One question sorts this group: what happens on the day your quota runs out? Mentionlytics stops collecting on Basic and Essential until the next cycle. The tools below answer that question in different ways.
Public price, monthly billing:
1. CommunityTracker.ai: for teams whose buyers and critics post in Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News and GitHub threads. Free, then $39, $99 or $199 a month, and Pro removes the mention cap.
2. Brand24: for marketing teams that want news, social and podcasts in one feed on a card. From $199 a month billed annually, or $249 billed monthly.
3. Awario: for budget buyers who need raw volume. 30,000 new mentions a month on Starter for $29 billed annually, or $49 billed monthly.
4. Agorapulse: for social teams that want publishing, an inbox and reports next to listening. From $79 per user a month billed annually, or $99 billed monthly, with listening sold through sales.
Quote, contract:
5. Mention: for buyers who want the Company plan and accept a yearly bill. Quote only.
6. Brandwatch: for research teams that outgrow 100,000 mentions a month. Quote only.
7. Meltwater: for PR teams that need press, print and broadcast next to social. Quote only.
Why Teams Look Past Mentionlytics#
I don't read the reviews as a product revolt. The ratings run high, and most complaints sit inside 4 and 5 star reviews. You look elsewhere because the plan math pushes a growing team up the tiers faster than its feature needs grow.
What the ratings show#
Mentionlytics holds 4.7 from 38 reviews on Software Advice, the same 38 on Capterra UK, 4.0 from 3 on Trustpilot and 4.9 from 115 on G2 (all checked Oct 16, 2026).

Source: G2 Mentionlytics page, 4.9 from 115 reviews, captured Oct 16, 2026

Source: Software Advice Mentionlytics reviews summary, 4.7 overall, captured Oct 16, 2026
What it means: the people who use Mentionlytics rate it well, and none of the 38 Software Advice reviews sits below 3 stars.
What it doesn't prove: that the rating describes the product you buy today. On Software Advice and Capterra UK, the newest review dates from July 2024, so that whole pool is older than 12 months. G2 is the one site with reviews from 2026.
The incentive share: 25 of those 38 reviewers took a nominal incentive to write, so I weigh the organic ones and the specific complaints over the averages.
The G2 pool: G2 holds the most reviews, 115, and its newest one is dated Oct 2, 2026. I quote the two newest G2 reviews below.
Recent reviews: what I found#
I searched Capterra, G2 and Software Advice for Mentionlytics reviews posted since October 2025. Capterra and Software Advice show none. G2 shows recent ones, and the two newest are 5 star reviews from small businesses:
Sean J., an analyst at a company of 50 or fewer people, wrote on Oct 2, 2026 that his team got running "with minimal support", that the API is "well documented", and that buying extra credits is "simple and convenient" (G2).
Praise U., an assistant manager at a company of 50 or fewer people, wrote on Sep 17, 2026 that pricing helped the team switch from Meltwater (G2).

Source: G2 Mentionlytics reviews by Sean J. (Oct 2, 2026) and Praise U. (Sep 17, 2026), captured Oct 16, 2026
Trustpilot adds two more 5 star reviews, both posted on Apr 21, 2026, both by reviewers in Greece, where Mentionlytics has an office in Crete.

Source: Trustpilot Mentionlytics page, 4.0 from 3, with Eleftherios Xenarios's review, captured Oct 16, 2026
Trustpilot notes that the company hasn't invited reviews lately. I don't call these two reviews fake. I treat them as two data points from one place on one day, and I give the G2 reviews more weight, because they come from different reviewers on different dates.
What each plan buys (checked Oct 16, 2026)#
Here is how Mentionlytics sells today:
Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing, per month | Keyword rules | Mentions a month | Refresh | Users |
Basic | $59 | $49 | 3 | 5,000 | 12 hours | 2 |
Essential | $169 | $141 | 10 | 15,000 | 6 hours | 10 |
Advanced | $299 | $249 | 15 | 50,000 | Continuous | Unlimited |
Pro | $499 | $416 | 25 | 100,000 | Continuous | Unlimited |
Business | $749 | $624 | 40+ | 200,000+ | Not shown | Unlimited |
Enterprise | from $1,299 | from $1,083 | Not shown | Not shown | Not shown | Not shown |
Mentionlytics doesn't publish refresh speeds for Business and Enterprise.

Basic and its yearly rate both carry a "limited time offer" tag, against $69 and $58. Yearly billing saves you 2 months. AI Visibility costs extra and starts on Essential.
Now the part that drives every upgrade. The help center article on quotas (Jul 27, 2026) puts it plainly: once your account reaches its monthly limit, Mentionlytics stops collecting new mentions until your next billing cycle. Extra mentions cost $10 per 10,000 a month, and you can buy them only on Advanced or higher. A team on Basic or Essential that hits the cap on day 18 has two options: wait 12 days blind, or upgrade.

What the terms do#
I read four help center articles on billing:
Refunds (Feb 11, 2026): yearly plans get a full refund within 14 days, a pro rata refund from day 14 to day 30, and nothing after. On a monthly plan, the current period is never refunded.
Cancellation (Feb 11, 2026): you cancel yourself under Settings, then Plan and Billing. Access runs to the end of the period, and you can reactivate before it ends.
Renewal (Apr 3, 2026): the cycle follows your last invoice date. Seven days past due, access gets restricted. At 14 days, collection stops and the account cancels.
Extras (Apr 3, 2026): anything you add carries over to the next monthly cycle until you remove it by hand.

Source: Mentionlytics help center, Refund Policy, yearly and monthly sections, captured Oct 16, 2026
What this means for you: the 14 day trial and the 14 day yearly refund window give you about four weeks to test your volume before money gets locked in. What it doesn't prove: that Mentionlytics treats buyers badly at exit. I found no review that reports a billing dispute.
Fifteen stories from the reviews#
Five of these come from the last 12 months. I flag the rest.
What reviewers liked:
The API user. Sean J. built Mentionlytics into his company's own application through the API and found the plan price "very reasonable" (G2, Oct 2, 2026).
The Meltwater switcher. Praise U. found setup "very easy" and named pricing as a reason to leave Meltwater (G2, Sep 17, 2026).
The budget buyer. Eleftherios Xenarios found enterprise tools "way out of our budget" and wrote that support resolves issues "within a single day" (Trustpilot, Apr 21, 2026).
The Meltwater comparison. Findahobby titled a review "One third the price of Meltwater with better features." and named Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok and podcasts for 499 USD a month (Trustpilot, Apr 21, 2026).

Source: Trustpilot Mentionlytics review by Findahobby, Apr 21, 2026, captured Oct 16, 2026
The printing group. Melis C., at a company of 1,001 to 5,000 people, uses share of voice to show leadership what marketing achieved across regions (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jul 2024).

Source: Software Advice Mentionlytics review by Melis C., July 2024, captured Oct 16, 2026
The small agency. Pierre H., at a firm of 2 to 10 people, called communication with support "exemplary!" (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jan 2023).
The client monitor. Andrea, a business developer in Germany, chose Mentionlytics more than 2 years before her review and kept renewing for the support (older than 12 months) (Capterra UK, Mar 22, 2023).
The research project. Despina K. had no prior monitoring experience and found the setup "pretty straightforward" for an EU project (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Mar 2020).
What reviewers disliked:
The Telegram limit. Sean J., in the same Oct 2026 review, finds Telegram handling "very limiting" and wants Mentionlytics to read his own Telegram account (G2, Oct 2, 2026).
The noise. Melis C., in the same review, flagged "Irrelevant matches and needed optimization" and missing platforms such as Line and WeChat (older than 12 months).
The quota. Andrea, in the same review, wrote that her team runs out of mentions and sees repeats (older than 12 months).

Source: Capterra UK Mentionlytics review by Andrea, Mar 22, 2023, captured Oct 16, 2026
The telecom team. Daniel K. found the tool "Kind of slow" with limits that "feel low" (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Feb 2023).
The refresh premium. Ivette S., at a broadcast media company, wrote in Spanish that constant updates require one of the top plans, at 4 times the Basic price (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Aug 2023). On today's monthly prices, Advanced costs about 5 times Basic.
The tier count. Jobst E., self-employed in law, found "too many add-ons and functionality tiers" (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Feb 2023).
The stale data. Duccio C., at a consulting firm, wrote that the tool can run slow and sometimes doesn't update data (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jan 2023).
Evidence note: one complaint falls inside the last 12 months, Sean J.'s point on Telegram, and the rest date from 2023 or 2024. The quota and refresh complaints still match the current help center, so I believe those two. The speed complaints I can't confirm today, so test speed on your loudest keyword during the trial.
What practitioners post on X#
I read X posts that mention Mentionlytics from Oct 16, 2025 to Oct 16, 2026. Few come from buyers:
A rival's breakdown. @marshallmixing wrote on Jul 27, 2026 that emotion analysis and daily summaries open up only on the $299 and $499 tiers. Those figures match the live monthly prices. The same post promotes Vibewatch, so I read it as a pitch with a correct number in it.
A rival's ad. @Vibewatch_io posted on Jul 27, 2026 that Mentionlytics covers no Discord and reads only public Telegram channels. Its "$69" starting price is out of date.
AI recommendation counts. @babel42io ran the same creator question through AI models in July and August 2026. Awario got 3 recommendations, and Mentionlytics got 1 (posts dated Aug 30 and Sep 4, 2026).
Budget roundups. @CliveRoach included Mentionlytics in a set of low-cost listening options on Jan 30, 2026.
A user's share. @jorgeavilam posted a Mentionlytics monitoring report in Spanish on Feb 10, 2026.
What this adds: no X user complains about quotas or terms, and nobody praises them either. The X evidence is thin, so the help center carries more weight in this post.
Where Mentionlytics Earns Credit#
Before you leave, count what you'd give up:
Seats. Basic includes 2 users, Essential 10, and Advanced unlimited. You never pay per head.
Extras at $1 per 1,000 from Advanced up. $10 buys 10,000 more mentions, which costs less per mention than any plan's built in rate.
Share of voice. Melis C. uses it to prove marketing results to leadership, and Jobst E. found it easy to set up.
Support. Pierre H., Andrea, Fotini Z., Eleftherios Xenarios and Sean J. all credit support or an account manager, across reviews from 2023 to 2026.
Podcasts on Pro. You get audio coverage at $416 a month billed yearly, without an enterprise contract.
A self serve exit. You cancel from Settings, with no call and no notice period.
What this credit doesn't prove: that the plan you start on fits your volume. The support praise is consistent, and support can't add mentions to a Basic account. Our Mentionlytics review walks through each tier.
How I Evaluated These Mentionlytics Alternatives#
Each tool answered the same four questions:
Results: does it find what a Mentionlytics buyer tracks, such as brand names, rivals and category terms across social, web and communities?
Features: volume per dollar, refresh speed, seats and reports.
Pricing: can you see the price, can you pay by the month, and what happens when you hit the cap? I read every pricing page on Oct 16, 2026.
Problem solved: which Mentionlytics complaint it removes: the stop at the quota, the refresh premium or the tier count.
I built the order on the thesis. Tools that show a price and bill monthly sit above tools that sell through a quote, because you came here to get out of a volume bet. CommunityTracker sits first because Pro removes the cap for $99 a month and you can test it on the Free plan. The quote tools sit last, ordered by how far they go past 100,000 mentions.
For reviews, I used Software Advice, Capterra, G2 and Trustpilot. Any review dated before Oct 16, 2025 carries an "older than 12 months" flag. I compared plans, terms and reviews.

1. CommunityTracker.ai#
CommunityTracker.ai takes the quota out of the decision. Pro collects without a mention cap for $99 a month, billed monthly, in the Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News and GitHub threads where people ask for products and complain about them.
Features#
CommunityTracker ranks #1 because it fixes the exact failure that Mentionlytics Basic and Essential have: nothing stops at day 18.
Communities by plan: Reddit on Free, then Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News and GitHub on Starter, and every community on Pro.
AI filtering and scoring on Pro: threads get sorted by intent, so the 300 keyword hits shrink to the ones worth a reply.
Warm emails: 100 a month on Starter, unlimited on Pro.
Response Generator: drafts a reply you can edit before you post it.
Share of Voice on Pro, plus an exporter on Advanced: your share of community conversation against rivals.
AI Visibility on Advanced: how AI assistants describe your brand.
Pricing#
I'd run one keyword on Free for two weeks, then move to Pro if the threads turn into conversations.

Source: CommunityTracker.ai plans and prices, captured Oct 16, 2026
Free ($0): 1 keyword, Reddit.
Starter ($39/month): 4 keywords, 4 communities, 5,000 mentions.
Pro ($99/month): 10 keywords, all communities, no mention cap, AI scoring, Share of Voice.
Advanced ($199/month, sold by the sales team): 20 keywords, AI Visibility and the Share of Voice Exporter.
Every plan bills monthly with no long term contract, and you can cancel at any time. Checked Oct 16, 2026, on the pricing page.
Pros#
No cap on Pro. At $99, you pay $200 less than Mentionlytics Advanced on monthly billing and never wait for a cycle reset.
A public price and a monthly bill.
A Free plan. You see your own threads before you spend.
Intent scores. You read buyers first.
Cons#
Ordered by how much each one costs a Mentionlytics buyer:
1. Partial news and web coverage. If your Mentionlytics reports count news pickups, run your outlets through the Free plan first or keep a second source.
2. It can't read images or logos. Mentionlytics Business reads images; CommunityTracker reads text.
3. No publishing tools and no social inbox. You post and reply in the community itself.
4. Zero third-party reviews so far. Trustpilot, G2, Capterra and Software Advice show 0 reviews (Oct 16, 2026).
What users say#
Nobody has reviewed CommunityTracker on the sites I checked, so con 4 stands. A Free plan run on your own brand name gives you the evidence a review would.
Evidence note: the four cons come from CommunityTracker's plan pages and my review site search. The "no cap" claim applies to Pro, not to Starter, which carries 5,000 mentions like Mentionlytics Basic.
Summary#
My pick when the stop at the quota is your main complaint, and your buyers talk in communities.
Pick it if you track your brand, rivals and category terms in Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News or GitHub, and you want no mention ceiling.
Skip it if your monthly report counts every news pickup or reads logos in images.
2. Brand24#
Brand24 keeps the Mentionlytics model of keyword projects, mention caps and self serve plans, and adds podcasts and real time refresh on Pro. It costs more for the same volume, so it suits you only if those additions matter.
Features#
Brand24 sits at #2 because it replaces Mentionlytics one for one, with a card and a monthly option.
Sources: news, social networks including X, TikTok and Reddit, podcasts and review sites.
Refresh by plan: every 12 hours on Individual, hourly on Team, real time from Pro.
Seats: no user limit from Team up.
AI tools from Pro: an assistant, insights and topic grouping you can forward to a manager.
Pricing#
Compare by volume, not by plan name. At about 40,000 to 50,000 mentions, Brand24 Pro costs $399 a month billed annually against $249 for Mentionlytics Advanced.

Source: Brand24 plans on the annual toggle, captured Oct 16, 2026

Source: Brand24 plans on the monthly toggle, captured Oct 16, 2026
Individual: $199/month billed annually, $249 monthly. 1 user, 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions.
Team: $299 annually, $349 monthly. 7 keywords, 10,000 mentions.
Pro: $399 annually, $499 monthly. 12 keywords, 40,000 mentions.
Business: $599 annually, $699 monthly. 100,000 mentions across 25 keywords.
Enterprise: from $1,499 a month billed annually.
Brand24 prices as of Oct 16, 2026. Our Brand24 review and Brand24 alternatives go deeper.
Pros#
Real time from Pro. Mentionlytics gives you continuous refresh at Advanced; Brand24 matches that a tier higher.
You can pay month to month on any plan.
No seat limit on Team and above.
Podcasts from Business.
Cons#
1. Less volume per dollar. Individual gives 2,000 mentions for $199 billed annually, while Mentionlytics Basic gives 5,000 for $49.
2. Noise on broad keywords, in several reviews.
3. Gaps in US news coverage, in one review.
4. Sentiment in other languages that needs manual fixes.
What users like#
Brand24 holds 4.7 from 256 reviews on Software Advice (checked Oct 16, 2026).

Source: Software Advice Brand24 review by Izabela S., October 2025, captured Oct 16, 2026
The untagged finds. Izabela S. values the mentions she would never see without the tool, plus the Storm Reports (Software Advice, Oct 2025).
The breadth. Khasiba A. tracks news sites, X and Reddit in one place (Software Advice, Oct 2025).
The source count. Taylor S., in an organic review, praises how many sources the platform draws from (Software Advice, Oct 2025).
The switcher. Taby F. moved from another product and saved money (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jul 2024).
The Slack user. Ens C. ranks the Slack integration first (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jul 2024).
What users dislike#
Language. Khasiba A. corrects non-English sentiment by hand (Software Advice, Oct 2025).
Low quality hits. Michał A. gets irrelevant mentions at times (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jul 2025).
Filters. Marta Ż. sees wrong content pass the filter (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jul 2025).
Cost for small firms. Roberto L. finds the price high for a small company (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jan 2025).
US outlets. Taby F. lost a few media mentions to blocked US news sites (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jul 2024).
Evidence note: three of the stories fall inside 12 months, all from October 2025. The noise complaint repeats across reviewers, the same one Mentionlytics users raise, so switching doesn't escape it.
Summary#
My pick when you want the same model with podcasts and real time refresh, and you'll pay more per mention for it.
Pick it if you need real time alerts from a self serve tool and your team is larger than 2.
Skip it if volume per dollar is the reason you're leaving, because Mentionlytics gives more mentions at each price.
3. Awario#
Awario sells volume. Starter collects 30,000 new mentions a month for $29 billed annually, 6 times the Mentionlytics Basic quota for $20 less.
Features#
Awario ranks #3 because it solves the quota problem for the least money, and its refund history keeps it below Brand24.
Boolean on all three plans. You can move your keyword rules across.
Sources: social networks, news sites, blogs and the open web.
White label reports and export.
No keyword limit within a topic.
Pricing#
Start on monthly billing. Awario's own reviewers report refused refunds, so treat an annual payment as gone.

Source: Awario plans on the yearly toggle, captured Oct 16, 2026

Source: Awario plans on the monthly toggle, captured Oct 16, 2026
Starter: $29/month billed annually, $49 monthly. 3 topics, 30,000 new mentions, 5,000 stored per topic, 1 team member.
Pro: $89 annually, $149 monthly. 15 topics, 300,000 mentions, 10 team members.
Enterprise: $249 annually, $399 monthly. 1,000,000 mentions across 100 topics, with no cap on team members.
I read this page on Oct 16, 2026. Our Awario review and the Awario alternatives post cover each plan.
Pros#
The most mentions per dollar here. Pro's 300,000 mentions for $89 dwarf the 50,000 on Mentionlytics Advanced at $249.
Monthly billing.
Boolean on Starter.
White label reports on Enterprise at $249, where Mentionlytics needs Business at $624.
Cons#
1. Refund refusals reported from 2020 to 2025.
2. A 5,000 mention storage limit per Starter topic. Older results rotate out.
3. One seat on Starter. Mentionlytics Basic gives you 2.
4. Facebook and Instagram gaps in older reviews.
What users like#
Awario holds 4.2 from 18 reviews on Trustpilot (checked Oct 16, 2026).

Source: Trustpilot Awario page, 4.2 from 18 reviews, captured Oct 16, 2026
Value. Manuel Echanove names value for money (Trustpilot, Dec 17, 2025).
The spreadsheet replaced. Benoît E. dropped manual hashtag searches (Trustpilot, Dec 27, 2025).
Alert setup help. Ross got help building alerts that catch the right mentions (Trustpilot, Dec 15, 2025).
Agency languages. Harry Anderson runs reports in several languages (Trustpilot, Dec 14, 2025).
Keyword tuning. Kevin Cross gets keyword changes from support on request (Trustpilot, Jan 7, 2026).
What users dislike#
The surprise charge. Tom Pannett was charged £348 without notice and got it back only after a complaint (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Mar 27, 2025).
Support tone. Valeriia reports rude support (Trustpilot, Dec 2025).
The saved card. Tobi was charged $1,345 and refused a refund (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Jun 20, 2021).
Meta gaps. Laura couldn't track Facebook or Instagram (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Dec 10, 2020).
Quota drain. Emil Forsén saw related keywords eat the quota (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, May 12, 2020).
Evidence note: most of the praise landed between Dec 13 and Dec 27, 2025, so I give it less weight. The refund complaints span five years, and I believe them.
Summary#
My pick for the most volume under $100 a month, if you'll pay monthly and watch the renewal.
Pick it if your brand name pulls more than 15,000 mentions a month and your budget stops near Mentionlytics Basic.
Skip it if you need share of voice reports for a manager, or you pay yearly and might want money back.
4. Agorapulse#
Agorapulse fits the Mentionlytics buyer who also runs the social accounts. You get publishing, a shared inbox and reports on public per user plans, and listening comes from the former Mention product through a sales call.
Features#
Agorapulse sits at #4 because it adds the workflow Mentionlytics lacks, and it puts listening behind a quote.
Unified inbox: the reason most reviewers buy.
Publishing and approvals: a shared calendar and client sign off.
ROI reports: a Google Analytics link ties posts to traffic.
Listening: Mention's monitoring, now sold as Agorapulse Listening.
Pricing#
Price the seats first. Five users on Professional cost $745 a month on monthly billing, before listening.

Source: Agorapulse plans on the monthly toggle, captured Oct 16, 2026
Standard: $79 per user a month billed annually, $99 monthly.
Professional: $119 annually, $149 monthly.
Advanced: $149 annually, $199 monthly.
Custom: quote.
Free plan: none since Jul 6, 2026; a 30-day trial with no card instead.
Listening: through sales.
Plans read on Oct 16, 2026. Our Agorapulse review breaks down each tier.
Pros#
Publishing and inbox in one tool. Mentionlytics doesn't post or reply for you.
Monthly billing and a 30-day trial.
Client approvals for agencies.
ROI reporting tied to site traffic.
Cons#
1. Per user pricing. Mentionlytics charges nothing per seat.
2. Listening needs a quote.
3. Failed posts and stuck uploads, in a January 2026 review.
4. Billing complaints after stop requests and plan changes.
What users like#
Inbox zero. Richard Tubb clears social messages in one place (Trustpilot, Nov 21, 2025).
The main reason. Leslie Samuel buys for the unified inbox (Trustpilot, Nov 21, 2025).
Stakeholder reports. Lincoln uses ROI reviews with stakeholders (Capterra UK, Jan 1, 2026).
Traffic proof. Stephanie shows ROI through Google Analytics (Trustpilot, Nov 26, 2025).
Seat math. Bruce M. found other tools pricier at 3 or 4 users (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Mar 2022).
What users dislike#
Broken posts. Social Admin reports failed tokens, uploads stuck at 99% and a 6 hour wait for support (Trustpilot, Jan 30, 2026).
Charges after stopping. Agent Upgrade was billed after a written stop request (Trustpilot, Oct 1, 2025).
Doubled fees. AgencyMan faced a doubled monthly bill from a plan change (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Jul 9, 2025).
Tier lock. David paid for a year, then needed the next tier for reply tagging (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Jun 26, 2024).
A lasting bug. Adam saw a reporting bug stay for months (older than 12 months) (Capterra UK, Sep 30, 2025).
Evidence note: the November 2025 praise arrived within one week, so I weigh it less. I believe the billing complaints, because two buyers describe them in separate ways.
Summary#
My pick when the job is running social accounts, and listening comes second.
Pick it if your team posts, replies and reports to clients, and you'll take a quote for listening.
Skip it if monitoring is the whole job, because Mentionlytics gives you that without seats or a sales call.
5. Mention#
Mention now sells one plan, Company, through a quote and a yearly bill. You get news, blogs, forums, social networks and 75+ review sites, with historical data and the API as paid add-ons.
Features#
Mention ranks #5 because its coverage overlaps Mentionlytics, and its buying path moved to sales.
Sources: news, blogs, forums, plus Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
Reviews: 75+ review sites, including Google, Trustpilot, Amazon and Glassdoor.
Boolean alerts up to 2,000 characters on the advanced alert type.
Team tools: mention assignment, roles and white label reports.
Pricing#
Mention's pricing page shows the Company plan with no price, so you get a quote.

Company: quote, billed yearly.
Historical data and API: paid add-ons.
Extra alerts and quota: through support or an account manager.
Terms read on Oct 16, 2026. See our Mention review and Mention alternatives.
Two sources confirm the change to Publish and Respond. Mention's pricing page FAQ explains that the company deprecated both features and points you to Agorapulse for publishing and replies. Mention's help center gives the date: on January 30, 2026, Publish and Respond shut down for every user, while monitoring kept running.

Pros#
Review site coverage that Mentionlytics sells per location.
Boolean depth for complex queries.
Unlimited users on Company.
Cons#
1. No public price.
2. Yearly billing only.
3. No publishing or replies since January 30, 2026.
4. A billing dispute in a Trustpilot review.

Mention holds 4.7 on Software Advice and 2.8 from 6 on Trustpilot (checked Oct 16, 2026). I found no review from the last 12 months on Software Advice.

Setup. Manal I., in higher education, found it easy to set up, with a good alert module (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Sep 2022).
Always on. Jonathan C., at a consulting firm of 2 to 10 people, called it "Completely painless" (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Sep 2022).
PR speed. Rencha used it to react to PR issues (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Nov 28, 2017).
What users dislike#
The renewal charge. Natallia Zakharina canceled a yearly plan on time and got charged for the next year (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Feb 17, 2025).
Basic use only. Manal I. found it limited past basic use (older than 12 months).
Common words. Iryna Namaka struggled with a brand name that doubles as a common word (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Jun 3, 2020).
Evidence note: none of these stories falls inside 12 months, and the Trustpilot page includes one review about a different company, which I left out. The yearly billing and the quote come from Mention's own pages, so those I trust.
Summary#
My pick only if you want Mention's review coverage and accept a yearly quote.
Pick it if review sites matter as much as social, and procurement prefers a yearly contract.
Skip it if you left Mentionlytics to keep monthly billing.
6. Brandwatch#
Brandwatch serves the research team that outgrows 100,000 mentions a month and wants query help, dashboard segments and benchmarks. It costs a quote and brings renewal risk.
Features#
Brandwatch ranks #6 for depth, and its terms keep it low.
Consumer research: NLP help to write queries and segment dashboards.
Benchmarks: competitor comparisons.
Publishing: scheduling tools from the former Falcon.io.
Customization across use cases.
Pricing#

Source: Brandwatch plans page, with "See it in action" buttons and no prices, captured Oct 16, 2026
Every tier: sold by quote.
A reported price: $12,000 a year for 3 users on a 2 year deal (Trustpilot, Dec 30, 2025).
Pricing read on Oct 16, 2026. Our Brandwatch review and Brandwatch alternatives post go further.
Pros#
Research depth praised in 2026 reviews.
Dashboard segments.
Benchmarks for rival work.
Cons#
1. Auto renewals buyers struggled to stop.
2. Quote only.
3. Features priced one by one.
4. Complexity.
What users like#
Brandwatch holds 4.2 from 255 reviews on Software Advice and 2.0 from 21 on Trustpilot (checked Oct 16, 2026).
Segments. Amber N. applies segments in dashboards with ease (Software Advice, Apr 2026).
Depth. Flynn M. values how deep the listening goes (Software Advice, Apr 2026).
Benchmarks. Ruth T. enjoyed the benchmark function (Software Advice, May 2026).
Coverage. Stefanie O. credits data coverage and reports (Software Advice, May 2026).
What users dislike#
Renewal. Maddie faced an auto renewal issue (Trustpilot, Jul 9, 2026).

Paid features. BIeh found that every feature costs extra (Trustpilot, Dec 30, 2025).
Sales calls. Holly Weaver got sales calls 2 to 3 times a day (Trustpilot, Jan 31, 2026).
Complexity. Quinlyn K. traded customization for complexity (Software Advice, Apr 2026).
Cancel attempts. A reviewer named customer tried from January to stop a July renewal (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Jul 28, 2025).
Evidence note: two buyers describe the renewal problem a year apart, and I believe them. Some Trustpilot posts concern fake letters sent in Brandwatch's name, and I skipped them.
Summary#
My pick when volume past Mentionlytics Business is the need and legal reads the contract.
Pick it if you run consumer research across markets and need more than 200,000 mentions a month.
Skip it if you want to cancel from a settings page.
7. Meltwater#
Meltwater adds press, print and broadcast to social listening, plus press contacts and logo detection in its Explore+ layer. You buy it through a quote and an annual contract.
Features#
Meltwater ranks #7 because it covers the most media and asks the most commitment.
Media coverage: print, broadcast and news alongside social.
Explore+: enterprise analytics with logo detection and speech to text.
Media contacts and distribution for PR teams.

Source: Meltwater Explore+ page, captured Oct 16, 2026
Pricing#
Every plan: quote.
Explore+: priced on top.
Notice: buyer reviews describe auto renewal unless you give notice; one 2021 reviewer cites 90 days.
Status read on Oct 16, 2026. Our Meltwater alternatives post covers the contract.
Pros#
Broadcast and print that Mentionlytics doesn't cover.
Press contacts in the same account.
Logo detection in Explore+.
Cons#
1. Quote and annual contract.
2. Renewal complaints from 2018 to 2025.
3. Value for money at 3.4 on Software Advice.
4. Query setup by trial and error, in a 2026 review.
What users like#
On Software Advice, Meltwater scores 4.0 from 96 reviews; on Trustpilot, 1.7 from 17 (both checked Oct 16, 2026).
Brand dashboards. Rishikesh M. tracks several brands with a dashboard for each (Software Advice, Jan 2026).
Article filters. Ana B. tracks several electronics brands in one account (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Aug 2022).
Crisis work. Linda R., in higher education, cut manual compiling during crises (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Nov 2019).
What users dislike#
Setup. Rishikesh M. builds complex queries by trial and error, and big dashboards load slowly (Software Advice, Jan 2026).
No warning. Andrus Kiisküla got no notice before a renewal (older than 12 months) (Trustpilot, Mar 12, 2025).
The clause. David C. missed a 90 day notice in a linked page and got renewed for a year (older than 12 months) (Software Advice, Jan 2021).
Evidence note: one of these six stories falls inside 12 months. The renewal pattern repeats over years, so I believe it, though I have no 2026 case.
Summary#
My pick when your report must count TV, radio and print.
Pick it if broadcast and print coverage decide your budget, and you'll negotiate the notice clause.
Skip it if a monthly bill brought you to Mentionlytics in the first place.
FAQ#
What happens when I run out of Mentionlytics mentions?#
Collection stops until the next billing cycle, per the help center (Jul 27, 2026). From Advanced up, you can buy 10,000 more for $10 a month. Basic and Essential can't buy extras.
Can I get a refund from Mentionlytics?#
On yearly billing, you get a full refund within 14 days and a pro rata refund from day 14 to day 30. Monthly plans get no refund for the current period (policy dated Feb 11, 2026).
Which alternative gives the most mentions for the money?#
Awario. Starter collects 30,000 new mentions for $29 a month billed annually, and Pro collects 300,000 for $89 (checked Oct 16, 2026). CommunityTracker Pro has no mention cap at $99, inside the communities it covers.
Is there a free Mentionlytics alternative?#
CommunityTracker.ai has a Free plan with 1 keyword on Reddit. Agorapulse closed its Free plan on Jul 6, 2026. Mentionlytics itself offers a 14 day trial and no free plan.
Does Mention still publish and reply to posts?#
No. Mention shut down Publish and Respond for every user on January 30, 2026, and points buyers to Agorapulse for those jobs.
Are recent Mentionlytics reviews positive?#
Yes, on the reviews I could read. G2's two newest, from Sean J. (Oct 2, 2026) and Praise U. (Sep 17, 2026), give 5 stars, and Sean J. still flags Telegram handling. Trustpilot adds two 5 star reviews from Greece, where Mentionlytics has an office, both dated Apr 21, 2026. Software Advice and Capterra show no review newer than July 2024.
Who Should Switch#
You hit the cap on Basic or Essential most months. You're paying to go dark for part of each cycle. Move to Awario for volume, or CommunityTracker Pro if your mentions live in communities.
You need continuous refresh and can't justify $299. Brand24 Team refreshes hourly for $299 billed annually; for real time, compare Brand24 Pro against Mentionlytics Advanced.
You run the social accounts too. Agorapulse adds the inbox and the calendar.
You track buyers, not press. CommunityTracker finds the threads where people ask for a product.
Who Should Stay#
You sit on Advanced or higher. Extras at $1 per 1,000 and unlimited seats beat most of the field.
You need share of voice reports. Mentionlytics includes them from Advanced, and users credit them.
Your team grows. No per seat fee means headcount never moves your bill on Advanced.
You value support. Reviewers from 2023 to 2026 credit it.
How to Decide, by Situation#
Budget under $50 a month, high volume: Awario Starter, billed monthly first.
Budget near $100 a month, community buyers: CommunityTracker Pro.
Budget near $300 a month, one brand and 2 to 4 rivals: stay on Mentionlytics Advanced, or compare Brand24 Team.
Publishing plus listening for clients: Agorapulse, with the listening quote in writing.
Review sites as a main source: Mention, if a yearly quote works for you.
More than 200,000 mentions and a research team: Brandwatch.
Broadcast and print in the report: Meltwater.
Start with your loudest keyword. Run it through the Mentionlytics trial, count the mentions in 14 days, double that number, and match it to the pricing table above. That count tells you which plan you need and whether you should leave at all.
