Mentionlytics Review 2026: 41 Reviews on the Mention Cap

Software Advice scores Mentionlytics 4.6 for value for money across 38 reviews, its lowest sub-score (checked Oct 15, 2026). Andrea, at a German marketing agency, wrote about the mention quota: "We always run out of mentions and the mentions sometimes are repeated, not relevant" (Capterra UK, Mar 22, 2023).

Once Basic or Essential hits its monthly quota, collection stops, and you can't top it up. Melis C. put "Irrelevant matches and needed optimization" first among her cons (Software Advice, Jul 2024), and each match you would never act on still counts against that quota. Jobst E. wrote that "There are too many add-ons and functionality tiers" (Software Advice, Feb 2023).

My view: size your plan by the keyword that pulls the most mentions and by your team size, because Basic stops at 2 users and Essential at 10.

This review covers all 6 plans, what 41 users say, 5 limits to check during the trial and 4 alternatives.

TL;DR#

  • Tool type: Mentionlytics is a brand monitoring and social listening tool with offices in London and Crete. It tracks keywords across news sites, blogs, forums, podcasts, review sites and 11 social networks, and it tags each mention with a sentiment score.

  • What $49 buys: Basic gives 2 users 3 keyword rules, 5,000 mentions a month and a 12-hour refresh, billed yearly. It leaves out competitor monitoring, share of voice and reports.

  • Where the bill climbs: competitor monitoring starts on Essential at $141, share of voice, mention assignment and reports on Advanced at $249, and podcasts, the API and custom reports on Pro at $416. All three prices are per month on yearly billing.

  • Mention math: Basic works out to $9.80 per 1,000 mentions and Pro to $4.16. From Advanced up, extra mentions cost $10 per 10,000, so a second batch of 50,000 adds $50 a month.

  • Ratings: 4.7 on Software Advice (38 reviews), 4.7 on Capterra UK (the same 38), a 4.0 TrustScore on Trustpilot (3 reviews) and no written reviews on TrustRadius, all checked Oct 15, 2026. The newest Software Advice review dates from July 2024.

  • My call: Buy Mentionlytics Advanced at $249 a month billed yearly ($299 billed monthly) if your marketing or PR team watches one brand and 2 to 4 competitors across the web and social, and someone expects share of voice reports from you. Pick Awario Pro at $89 a month billed yearly if volume past 50,000 mentions matters more than reports, and CommunityTracker Pro at $99 a month if you want to find and contact buyers in Reddit or Slack threads.

How I Analyzed Mentionlytics#

Prices and ratings date: Oct 15, 2026 (IST). Each price, plan limit, policy and rating below comes from what I checked that day: Mentionlytics pricing, its help center, three review sites and the pricing of four alternatives.

  • Reviews: I read 41 user reviews: all 38 on Software Advice and all 3 on Trustpilot. Capterra UK shows the same 38 reviews as Software Advice, so I count them once, and TrustRadius has none. The reviews run from March 2016 to April 2026. I quote 25 of them below, in 7 liked and 7 disliked points.

  • Plans: I checked Mentionlytics pricing on yearly and monthly billing, read every feature row of the plan comparison table, and worked out the price per 1,000 mentions and per keyword rule for each plan.

  • Policies: I read the Mentionlytics Terms of Use and 8 help center articles on the trial, refunds, cancellation, renewal, extras, the mention quota, data sources and the plan comparison.

  • Alternatives: I checked the prices of CommunityTracker, Brand24, Awario and Mention the same day.

  • How I quote: a review makes it into this article only when I can link to the page it sits on and copy its words exactly, with the reviewer's name or role and the date the site shows.

Mentionlytics#

Source: Mentionlytics homepage, mentionlytics.com, captured Oct 15, 2026 with the top promo bar and cookie banner dismissed.

Mentionlytics Ltd has a London address, and a second company, Mentionlytics IKE, sits in Crete, Greece. Capterra UK gives 2015 as the founding year.

You build keyword rules (a brand, product, person, hashtag or topic, with included and excluded terms), and Mentionlytics collects the public posts that match. Each rule pulls from:

  • Web: news sites, blogs, forums, e-shops, directories and any public page that search engines index.

  • Social: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, X, TikTok, Reddit, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Pinterest and Telegram.

  • Podcasts: transcripts from Spotify, PodBean and other hosts. Apple Podcasts stays out because of Apple's API rules.

  • Reviews: Google Play, the App Store and your Google Business Profile, plus Trustpilot, TripAdvisor or Booking.com at $10 per business location.

Mentions land in a feed and on dashboards with sentiment, reach, engagement and a keyword cloud. From Advanced up, you assign mentions to teammates, tag them and write automation rules. Every plan also carries a publisher with drafts, scheduling and a calendar.

Four networks restrict what any listening tool can collect:

  • Facebook: the API has no keyword search, so Mentionlytics reads only the pages you add to a monitored list, plus a set of pages its team monitors.

  • Instagram: you get nothing until you authorize one business profile, and then Mentionlytics matches your keywords as hashtags.

  • Threads and Pinterest: keyword tracking works only after you authorize a profile you own.

  • LinkedIn: you get your own page's posts plus a sample of public posts, and that keyword sample needs Advanced or higher.

Features#

  • On every plan: web, social and review sources, hashtag tracking, AI sentiment, Boolean search, filters for language, country, source and sentiment, an 18-month archive, email, push and desktop alerts, PDF and Excel exports, Slack and Hootsuite integrations, and the publisher.

  • Essential adds: competitor monitoring, period comparison and access to the AI Visibility add-on, which tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity mention your brand.

  • Advanced adds: RSS, emotion analysis, mention translation, the Social Intelligence Advisor (SIA), anomaly detection, share of voice, earned media value, top influencers, owned media analytics, standard reports, mention assignment, tags, automation rules and live chat support.

  • Pro adds: Telegram, podcasts, AI mention clustering, AI comment summaries, the AI chatbot, AI tagging, customizable dashboards and reports, Looker Studio, Power BI, the API, MCP access, a training course and an account consultant.

  • Business adds: AI image recognition, video and audio analysis, shared dashboards, white-label reports and separate client accounts.

Features, in my view: Basic watches your own name and nothing else, so it suits a founder who wants alerts. The day your boss asks how your brand compares with 3 rivals, you need Advanced, because Essential tracks competitors but builds no share of voice chart and no report.

Pricing#

Mentionlytics prices each account by keyword rules and monthly mentions. Users cost nothing extra up to the plan's cap: 2 on Basic, 10 on Essential and unlimited from Advanced.

Prices are in USD, checked Oct 15, 2026. The yearly toggle advertises 2 months free, so a yearly plan costs 10 times the monthly price.

  • Basic ($49/month billed yearly, $59/month billed monthly): 3 keyword rules, 5,000 mentions, a 12-hour refresh, 10 social profiles and 2 users. Both prices carry a "limited time offer" tag against $58 and $69.

  • Essential ($141/month billed yearly, $169/month billed monthly): 10 rules, 15,000 mentions, a 6-hour refresh, 20 profiles, 10 users and competitor monitoring.

  • Advanced ($249/month billed yearly, $299/month billed monthly): 15 rules, 50,000 mentions, continuous updates, 30 profiles, unlimited users, share of voice, reports and the team tools.

  • Pro ($416/month billed yearly, $499/month billed monthly): 25 rules, 100,000 mentions, 40 profiles, podcasts, the API and customizable reports.

  • Business ($624/month billed yearly, $749/month billed monthly): 40+ rules, 200,000+ mentions, 60+ profiles, white-label reports and separate client accounts.

  • Enterprise (from $1,083/month billed yearly, from $1,299/month billed monthly): 100+ rules, a custom mention volume and 100+ profiles.

On yearly billing, 1,000 mentions cost $9.80 on Basic, $9.40 on Essential, $4.98 on Advanced, $4.16 on Pro and $3.12 on Business. A keyword rule costs between $14.10 and $16.64 a month on every tier from Basic to Pro, so the mention cap decides when you upgrade.

From Advanced up, extra mentions cost $10 per 10,000 a month, or $1 per 1,000, which sits below every plan's built-in rate. Basic and Essential cannot buy extras, so collection stops when the quota runs out and restarts with the next billing cycle.

For example, a team on Advanced that collects 80,000 mentions a month pays $249 plus 3 x $10, or $279, against $416 for Pro. Move to Pro only when you need podcasts, the API or customizable reports.

Yearly billing cuts the Advanced bill by $598: monthly billing costs $299 x 12 = $3,588 a year, and the yearly plan costs $2,990.

The billing terms that affect your money:

  • Trial: 14 days with no card. The pricing FAQ gives trial accounts 3 keywords, 5,000 mentions, 10 profiles and 5 seats, while the help center's trial terms (updated Aug 26, 2026) give 5 keywords, 10,000 mentions, 10 profiles and 2 exports. The account expires on day 14 with no charge.

  • Refunds on yearly plans: a full refund if you cancel within 14 days, a pro-rata refund from day 14 to day 30, and nothing after day 30.

  • Refunds on monthly plans: none for the current billing period. You keep access until the cycle ends.

  • Renewal: your plan renews on the date of your last invoice. If an invoice stays unpaid, Mentionlytics restricts access after 7 days, then stops collecting mentions and cancels the account at day 14.

  • Cancellation: open Settings, then Plan and Billing, then Cancel subscription. You keep full access to the end of the period and can reactivate before it ends.

  • Extras: extra mentions and other extras bill again each month until you remove them by hand.

  • Add-ons: location review monitoring costs $10 per location. AI Visibility (Essential and up), historical data (Advanced and up) and the Managed Service (Pro and up) carry no listed price.

  • Payment: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, with PayPal on yearly plans. Schools and NGOs can ask sales for a discount.

Price, in my view: Advanced at $249 is the first plan that handles competitor work from start to finish, because share of voice, reports and extra mentions all begin there. Buy the yearly plan after the trial, and treat the 14-day full-refund window as your second check.

Pros#

  • AI sentiment, Boolean search, an 18-month archive and PDF and Excel exports come on every plan.

  • Mentionlytics charges no per-seat fee: Basic includes 2 users, Essential 10, and Advanced at $249 a month gives unlimited seats.

  • Extra mentions cost $1 per 1,000 from Advanced up.

  • Podcasts arrive on Pro at $416 a month billed yearly.

  • A yearly plan carries a full refund for 14 days and a pro-rata refund up to day 30.

  • Mentionlytics publishes monthly and yearly prices for all 6 plans, with a starting price for Enterprise.

Cons#

  • Basic has no competitor monitoring, share of voice or reports.

  • Basic and Essential cannot buy extra mentions, so collection stops at 5,000 or 15,000 a month.

  • Facebook listening covers monitored pages only, and Instagram needs an authorized business profile.

  • Mentions refresh every 12 hours on Basic and every 6 hours on Essential.

  • AI Visibility, historical data and the Managed Service show no public price.

  • The help center prices Essential at $169 yearly and $199 monthly, against $141 and $169 in the main price list.

  • Monthly plans give no refund for the current period.

Summary#

Mentionlytics sells you a monthly pool of mentions, and the noise in your keyword decides how fast you spend it. Take a trial week's count, divide by 7 and multiply by 30, and that number points to your plan.

What Real Users Are Saying About Mentionlytics in 2026#

Mentionlytics scores 4.7 on both Gartner sites, but the 38 reviews behind that number stop in July 2024, and Trustpilot holds only 3.

Software Advice: 4.7/5 (38 reviews, checked Oct 15, 2026)#

Software Advice shows 74% five-star, 24% four-star and 3% three-star reviews, with none below 3. Customer support scores 4.9, ease of use and functionality 4.7, and value for money 4.6.

Capterra UK: 4.7/5 (38 reviews, checked Oct 15, 2026)#

Capterra UK counts 28 five-star, 9 four-star and 1 three-star review. Despina, Konstantinos, Geeti, Andrea and Daniel appear on both Capterra UK and Software Advice, because both sites draw on one Gartner review pool.

Trustpilot: 4.0 TrustScore (3 reviews, checked Oct 15, 2026)#

All 3 reviews on Trustpilot give 5 stars, yet the TrustScore reads 4.0, because Trustpilot pulls a small sample toward the middle. Two of the 3 went up on Apr 21, 2026.

TrustRadius: no written reviews (checked Oct 15, 2026)#

TrustRadius shows a short AI summary of pros and cons and has 0 reviews, so I give it no weight here.

What users liked#

  1. Support that answers fast. Andrea writes: "Customer service above all. They are always a call away, literally and they will bend over backwards to help" (Capterra UK, Mar 22, 2023). Pierre H. calls the support communication "exemplary" (Software Advice, Jan 2023). Eleftherios Xenarios writes that the team will "often resolve minor issues or push updates within a single day" (Trustpilot, Apr 21, 2026).

  2. Setup with no prior experience. Despina K., who coordinates an EU research project, writes: "Although we had no previous experience with monitoring tools, the whole set up was pretty straightforward and easy" (Software Advice, Mar 2020). Fotini Z. lists "Ease of set-up and deployment" as her first pro (Software Advice, Mar 2023). John Dalloway sums it up as "Easy to use, customizable product, easy setup and good pricing" (Trustpilot, Feb 21, 2024).

  3. Share of voice you can show leadership. Melis C. writes: "With Mentionlytics Share of Voice insights, we can demonstrably prove the effectiveness of our marketing activities to leadership" (Software Advice, Jul 2024). Jobst E., a self-employed reviewer in law practice, says "Social listening and share of voice analysis are easily setup and utilized with Mentionlytics."

  4. A price below the enterprise suites. One Trustpilot reviewer titled the post "One third the price of Meltwater with better features." and listed "Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, Tiktok, Podcasts for 499 USD per month" (Findahobby, Trustpilot, Apr 21, 2026). Eleftherios Xenarios turned to Mentionlytics after finding the enterprise players "way out of our budget."

  5. Many sources in one view. Geeti, a doctoral student in India, liked "that it provides insights from multiple online sources in one place" (Capterra UK, Mar 9, 2023). Marina K. writes: "Everything is in one dashboard so there is no need of multiple tabs opened" (Software Advice, Feb 2020).

  6. Alerts and reports that arrive on their own. Despina K. adds that "Boolean search works wonders and the alerts and reports are a major plus." Irini P. writes: "I really like the email alerts and the reports that are being delivered" (Software Advice, Mar 2020).

  7. Client work for agencies. Andrea titled her review "Our go-to tool for clients monitoring" and writes that her agency chose Mentionlytics over 2 years ago and keeps renewing. Natassa K. writes: "We have been using Mentionlytics the past year for a variety of clients" (Software Advice, Mar 2020).

What users disliked#

  1. Matches you have to clean up. Melis C. lists "Irrelevant matches and needed optimization" first among her cons. Daniel Z., a marketing director in Mexico, writes that it "Sometimes retrieves mentions that are old, and/or not relevant" (Software Advice, Feb 2023). Aretousa S. writes that one keyword "was difficult to monitor, due to the wide range of results, many of which were irrelevant" (Software Advice, Dec 2017). Katie P. adds that it takes "effort to set to collect accuate data" (Software Advice, Feb 2023).

  2. A mention cap that runs out. Andrea writes: "We always run out of mentions and the mentions sometimes are repeated, not relevant." Daniel K. says it is "Kind of slow and mention limits feel low" (Software Advice, Feb 2023).

  3. Lag on large feeds. Stathis K., who works in hospitality, writes: "Sometimes it lags when you load too many mentions" (Software Advice, Nov 2022). Duccio C. lists "Sometime slow" and "Sometimes it doesn't update datas" (Software Advice, Jan 2023).

  4. Tiers and add-ons that push the price up. Jobst E. says "There are too many add-ons and functionality tiers." Johana M. writes that "they should try to reduce cost it's slightly expensive" (Software Advice, Jul 2021). Ivette S. writes in Spanish that constant updates need one of the top plans, "lo cual sube mucho el precio (4 veces el paquete básico)" (which raises the price a lot, 4 times the basic package) (Software Advice, Aug 2023).

  5. Fewer Facebook and Instagram results. Osvaldo M. names "the monitoring of Facebook and Instagram" as his one con (Software Advice, Jan 2023). Despina K. writes: "We would like more facebook results." The cause sits with Meta: Facebook offers no keyword search to any outside tool.

  6. Screen clutter and a mobile app with fewer controls. Fotini Z. writes: "The user interface is visually cluttered." Sebastian D. says "Sometimes it gets a little too colorful" (Software Advice, Feb 2023). Naya M. could not add a keyword in the mobile app: "I had to open it in a browser" (Software Advice, Apr 2020).

  7. Time to learn the tool. Konstantinos, a data scientist at a chemicals firm, writes that "it did take us some time to become fully familiar with all its capabilities" (Capterra UK, Sep 15, 2023). Melis C. also misses "Line (Japan), WeChat (China)" in the source list.

One 3-star review shows how a complaint can age. Geeti wrote in March 2023 about "the lack of features such as sentiment analysis and hashtag tracking." Mentionlytics replied that both run on every plan, and in October 2026 Basic includes both, so that con no longer holds.

How much weight each Mentionlytics rating can carry#

Six facts change how much each 4.7 tells you:

  • Review dates: the newest of the 38 Gartner reviews dates from July 2024, so none of them covers the AI Visibility add-on, MCP access or the October 2026 prices. Of the 38, 15 date from 2023 and 10 from 2020.

  • Clusters: 12 reviews went up between January and March 2023, and 7 carry the date March 2020. Mentionlytics replied to 34 of the 38, and every reply carries the date March 2023.

  • Invited reviews: 25 of the 38 reviews carry an "Incentivized" label, which means Mentionlytics invited the reviewer and offered a nominal thank-you. The other 13 came in organically.

  • One pool, two sites: Capterra UK and Software Advice show the same 38 reviews, so a 4.7 on both counts as one data point.

  • A 3-review Trustpilot sample: 3 reviews, all 5 stars, and all 3 reviewers list Greece, where Mentionlytics IKE has its office. Two posted on the same day, Apr 21, 2026. Trustpilot notes that Mentionlytics has no recent history of asking for reviews.

  • Old listing prices: Software Advice and Capterra UK show a $69 starting price, and Capterra UK shows a "Free version" that Mentionlytics does not offer.

What the four sites tell you together: treat the 4.7 as a verdict on support and setup from 2020 to 2023. For a 2026 purchase, weigh the cons that repeat across years, off-topic matches and mention caps, because the current plan table still produces both.

5 Mentionlytics Limits That Shape Your Plan Choice#

1. A broad keyword can spend Basic's 5,000 mentions in under 2 weeks#

Basic and Essential stop collecting when the monthly quota runs out, and neither can buy more. A generic keyword can pull thousands of unrelated mentions in a month.

For example, a keyword that pulls 400 mentions a day reaches 5,000 on day 13 and then goes quiet for the rest of the month.

Your move: add excluded terms to each rule during the trial, then set the Relevance filter to All to see how much noise you would pay for.

2. Competitor tracking starts at $141 and share of voice at $249#

Basic includes no competitor monitoring. Essential adds competitor monitoring but leaves out share of voice, standard reports and mention assignment, which all start on Advanced.

For example, moving from Essential to Advanced adds $108 a month on yearly billing, or $1,296 a year, for share of voice, reports, unlimited users and continuous updates.

Before you pay: write down the one chart your manager expects each month. If it is share of voice, skip Essential.

3. Facebook and Instagram return less than X, Reddit or the open web#

Facebook offers no keyword search to outside tools, so Mentionlytics reads only monitored pages. Instagram needs an authorized business profile and then matches hashtags. Osvaldo M. and Despina K. both name Facebook coverage among their cons.

What to do: authorize your Facebook page and Instagram business profile on day 1 of the trial, and add each competitor's Facebook page to the monitored list before you judge the results.

4. Three price lists disagree#

Mentionlytics prices Pro at $416 billed yearly and $499 billed monthly in its main price list, while its help center (updated Sep 15, 2026) puts Pro at $499 yearly and $599 monthly, and the Gartner sites show Basic at $69. The trial terms differ the same way between the pricing FAQ and the help center.

How to plan for it: take a screenshot of the price on the checkout screen and keep the first invoice, so any later dispute rests on the number you paid.

5. A monthly plan gives no refund for the month you are in#

Monthly plans carry no refund for the current period. Yearly plans carry a full refund for 14 days and a pro-rata refund from day 14 to day 30.

Your fallback: once the trial convinces you, the yearly plan gives you more room to back out, because its 14-day full refund has no monthly equivalent.

Mentionlytics Alternative: CommunityTracker#

Source: CommunityTracker homepage, https://www.communitytracker.ai/, captured Oct 15, 2026 for an earlier review that day and reused here, with names and emails in the product mockup blurred.

My #1 alternative is CommunityTracker if the people you want to reach ask for a tool like yours in Reddit, LinkedIn, Slack or Discord threads, and you want to contact them as well as count them.

Mentionlytics measures what people say about your brand. CommunityTracker looks for posts where someone asks for a product in your category, scores each post for buying intent, finds the author's contact details and runs the outreach.

It watches Reddit, LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord, Hacker News, GitHub and Indie Hackers, and it covers blogs and news only in part (communitytracker.ai/pricing).

Features#

  • Signal detection: AI flags posts that ask for tools, alternatives or fixes in your niche and scores each one for buying intent.

  • Enrichment: one click adds a verified email, LinkedIn profile, company and job title to the post's author.

  • Outreach: email sequences, LinkedIn connection requests and DMs, Reddit replies and AI voice calls, each written around the original post.

  • HubSpot: leads move to the CRM with the thread attached.

  • Team controls: you assign leads and approve messages before they send.

  • Analytics: share of voice on Pro, and community intelligence, a share of voice exporter and AI visibility on Advanced.

Pricing#

CommunityTracker charges one monthly price per plan, with no long-term contract, cancellation at any time and a free trial on Pro. The 4 plans on communitytracker.ai/pricing as of Oct 15, 2026:

  • Free ($0): daily alerts for 1 Reddit keyword.

  • Starter ($39/month): 4 keywords on Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News and GitHub, 5,000 mentions and up to 100 warm emails a month.

  • Pro ($99/month): 10 keywords across every supported community, with no cap on mentions or warm emails, plus AI scoring, share of voice and a daily Slack alert.

  • Advanced ($199/month, through sales): 20 keywords, community intelligence, the share of voice exporter and AI visibility.

Pro at $99 sits $150 below Mentionlytics Advanced on yearly billing and caps neither mentions nor emails.

Pros#

  • Pro removes the mention cap that Mentionlytics sets at 50,000 on Advanced.

  • It reads Slack and Discord communities, which sit outside the Mentionlytics source list.

  • Finding a buyer, enriching the contact and sending the first message happen in one place.

  • A free plan lets you judge one Reddit keyword before you spend anything.

Cons#

  • No PR coverage: it skips podcasts and review sites, and it covers news and blogs only in part.

  • No PR reporting: no plan includes earned media value or a white-label report, and sentiment shows only as an option on mentions.

  • Once-a-day Slack alerts: Pro and Advanced send Slack alerts once a day, where Mentionlytics Advanced updates continuously.

  • Starter gaps: Starter leaves out X and Slack.

  • Tier for each feature: enrichment, AI voice calls and the HubSpot push appear on the homepage but on no pricing card, so ask which tier includes them.

None of G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, Trustpilot, Product Hunt, AppSumo or SaaSHub shows a readable user review of CommunityTracker.

Summary#

If your next customers post "what tool do you use for X?" in a subreddit or Slack group, add CommunityTracker next to Mentionlytics: it turns those requests into leads, where Mentionlytics only counts them. With no outside reviews to check, start on the free Reddit keyword and count how many posts in week one you would answer.

Pros#

  • A 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan except custom deals.

  • No overage charge when you pass the mention limit.

  • Newsletters and Twitch on Pro, two sources Mentionlytics does not list.

  • Unlimited users from Team at $299.

Cons#

  • Individual costs $99.50 per 1,000 mentions on yearly billing, against $9.80 on Mentionlytics Basic.

  • Podcasts need Business at $599, while Mentionlytics includes them on Pro at $416.

  • The API costs $149 on top of Pro or Business.

  • Individual leaves out YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn.

  • Trustpilot shows 4.0 from 4 reviews; Software Advice shows 4.7 from 256 (checked Oct 15, 2026).

Summary#

At 40,000 mentions, Brand24 Pro costs $399 a month and Mentionlytics Advanced $249, both on yearly billing. That $150 a month, or $1,800 a year, buys you the 30-day refund window and newsletter coverage, so pay it only if one of those two matters to you.

Mentionlytics Alternative: Awario#

Source: Awario homepage, awario.com, captured Oct 15, 2026 after accepting the cookie banner.

Awario's Starter plan collects 30,000 new mentions a month for $29 billed yearly, 6 times the Mentionlytics Basic quota at 59% of the price.

Features#

  • Topics: each topic holds unlimited keywords, where Mentionlytics counts each keyword rule against your cap.

  • Sources: X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo, blogs, forums, news and the open web.

  • Analysis: sentiment, share of mentions, reach, top influencers and a topic cloud.

  • Exports: CSV export and PDF reports from Pro, and white-label reports, the API and an account manager on Enterprise.

  • Storage: 5,000 stored mentions per topic on Starter, 15,000 on Pro and 50,000 on Enterprise, with the oldest replaced first.

Pricing#

Awario prices, checked Oct 15, 2026:

  • Starter ($29/month billed yearly, $49 billed monthly): 3 topics, 30,000 new mentions, 1 team member, Boolean search.

  • Pro ($89/month billed yearly, $149 billed monthly): 15 topics, 300,000 new mentions, 10 team members, exports and PDF reports.

The trial opens the Starter plan with no card and expires on its own. Awario keeps your data for 14 days after that. It issues no refund for partial use, and you cancel through support.

Pros#

  • $0.97 per 1,000 mentions on Starter and $0.30 on Pro, yearly billing.

  • Unlimited keywords inside each topic.

  • White-label reports at $249 a month, where Mentionlytics needs Business at $624.

  • Trustpilot shows 4.2 from 18 reviews, with 11 in the last 12 months (checked Oct 15, 2026).

Cons#

  • The stored-mention cap drops your oldest results once a topic fills.

  • TikTok, LinkedIn and podcasts are missing from its source list.

  • Starter has no export, no PDF report and 1 user.

  • No refund for unused time.

Summary#

Pick Awario when the job is catching every mention of a common brand name on less than $100 a month. Stay with Mentionlytics when you need TikTok, podcasts or share of voice reports that a manager reads every month.

Mentionlytics Alternative: Mention#

Source: Mention homepage, mention.com, captured Oct 15, 2026 with the "Agorapulse has acquired Mention" banner in view.

Agorapulse acquired Mention and is moving Mention's Publish and Respond users over to Agorapulse. Mention now sells one Company plan through a demo.

Features#

  • Sources: Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, news, blogs, forums and more than 75 review sites, including Google, Trustpilot, Amazon and Glassdoor.

  • Search: Boolean queries of up to 2,000 characters on its Advanced Alert, and a query builder on the Standard Alert.

  • Analysis: sentiment, competitor benchmarking, share of voice, influence scoring and custom dashboards.

  • Team: mention assignment, shared alerts, roles and white-label reports.

  • Integrations: Slack and Zapier.

Pricing#

Mention sells one Company plan with no public price (checked Oct 15, 2026). Historical data and API access sell as paid add-ons on top of it, and nonprofits can ask for a discount. You can start a free trial, with no trial length stated.

Pros#

  • More than 75 review sites inside one plan, where Mentionlytics charges $10 per location for Trustpilot, TripAdvisor or Booking.com.

  • Boolean queries up to 2,000 characters.

  • A Zapier integration, which the Mentionlytics plan table does not list.

  • Software Advice shows 4.7 from 288 reviews (checked Oct 15, 2026).

Cons#

  • No public price, so you cannot compare cost per 1,000 mentions before a sales call.

  • No publishing or replies anymore.

  • Historical data and the API cost extra.

  • Trustpilot shows 2.8 from 6 reviews (checked Oct 15, 2026).

Summary#

Mention fits a team that already pays Agorapulse for publishing and wants listening from the same company. Everyone else should get its quote in writing and set it against the Mentionlytics prices above.

Final Verdict: Is Mentionlytics Worth It in 2026?#

Yes, if you run marketing or PR for one brand, follow 2 to 4 competitors and owe someone a monthly share of voice report. Advanced does that job for $249 a month on yearly billing, with 50,000 mentions, continuous updates and unlimited users.

Go to Awario Pro instead when volume past 50,000 mentions matters and reports do not: it collects 300,000 a month for $89 billed yearly. When you want to reach the people asking for a product in Reddit or Slack threads, CommunityTracker Pro does that for $99 a month.

Buy Mentionlytics if:

  • You report share of voice to a manager or client: Advanced adds share of voice, standard reports and mention assignment for $249 a month billed yearly.

  • You need podcasts without an enterprise contract: Pro covers podcast transcripts, Telegram and the API at $416 a month billed yearly.

  • Your keyword pulls a lot of noise and you want no surprise bills: from Advanced up, extra mentions cost $10 per 10,000, and you choose when to add them.

Skip Mentionlytics if:

  • You only want alerts on your brand name: Basic does that, but Awario Starter gives you 30,000 mentions for $29 a month billed yearly.

  • Your buyers post questions in community threads: Mentionlytics counts those posts and offers no way to enrich or contact the authors.

  • Facebook groups and Instagram posts are your main channel: Facebook keyword search does not exist for outside tools, and Instagram needs an authorized business profile.

  • You want a refund window on monthly billing: Mentionlytics gives none for the current month, while Brand24 offers 30 days.

I would buy Advanced on yearly billing for a 3-person marketing team watching 1 brand and 3 competitors, at $2,990 a year. I would not buy Basic for that team, because Basic includes no competitor monitoring.

Your first move: start the 14-day trial, authorize your Facebook page and Instagram business profile, load your brand and 3 competitors as keyword rules, and multiply the first week's mention count by 4.3 to see which quota you need.

FAQs#

1. Is Mentionlytics worth it in 2026? For a marketing or PR team that follows its own brand plus 2 to 4 rivals and needs share of voice reports, yes: the Advanced plan runs $249 a month billed yearly or $299 monthly (checked Oct 2026). Volume-first tracking without reports costs less on Awario Pro, and buyer hunting in community threads fits CommunityTracker Pro. Begin with the 14-day trial.

2. How much does Mentionlytics cost? Basic costs $49, Essential $141, Advanced $249, Pro $416 and Business $624 a month billed yearly, or $59, $169, $299, $499 and $749 billed monthly (checked Oct 2026). Enterprise starts at $1,083 billed yearly. Check the checkout price, because the help center lists higher figures.

3. Does Mentionlytics have a free plan? No. You get a 14-day free trial with no card, and the account expires on its own with no charge. The pricing FAQ allows 3 keywords and 5,000 mentions in the trial, and the help center allows 5 keywords and 10,000 mentions, so ask support which limit applies to you.

4. Can I get a refund from Mentionlytics? On a yearly plan, yes: a full refund within 14 days and a pro-rata refund from day 14 to day 30 (checked Oct 2026). Monthly plans get no refund for the current period. Set a reminder for day 13 of a yearly plan.

5. How do I cancel Mentionlytics? Go to Settings, then Plan and Billing, then Cancel subscription. Your account stays active to the end of the billing period, and you can reactivate before then. Remove any extras too, since they bill monthly until you cancel them.

6. Does Mentionlytics monitor Facebook and Instagram? In part. Facebook has no keyword search for outside tools, so Mentionlytics reads monitored pages only, and Instagram needs an authorized business profile before it returns hashtag matches (checked Oct 2026). Authorize both on the first trial day.

7. Mentionlytics vs Brand24: which costs less? Mentionlytics costs less at each matching volume: $249 against $399 for about 40,000 to 50,000 mentions, on yearly billing (checked Oct 2026). Brand24 adds a 30-day money-back guarantee and newsletter coverage, so pick it only if you need those.

8. What happens when I run out of mentions? Mentionlytics stops collecting until your next billing cycle. On Advanced and up, you can buy 10,000 extra mentions for $10 a month. Basic and Essential cannot buy extras, so tighten your keyword rules or upgrade.

Where I land: Advanced is the Mentionlytics plan I would pay for, at $249 a month on a yearly bill, when one brand and 2 to 4 competitors need share of voice and team reports. Volume without reports belongs on Awario Pro, and lead hunting in threads belongs on CommunityTracker Pro.
