Of the 15 BrandMentions reviews on Trustpilot, 14 give 1 star, and all 14 describe a charge, a renewal or a refund request (checked Oct 16, 2026).
On Capterra UK, BrandMentions holds 5.0 from 64 reviews that praise its alerts and blog and forum reach. The Starter plan shows $99 a month, billed quarterly, so the first charge after the 7-day trial is $297. Samenthan wrote: "the publish rate for starter is $79 per month, and at the end of the trial auto charge for 3 months as $99 per month" (Trustpilot, Jan 7, 2026). The $79 figure is the Starter rate on annual billing. The terms rule out refunds, even for unused time.
My view: read the billing cycle, the renewal notice and the no-refund clause before you weigh the 5.0, because those three decide what a mistake costs you.
This review covers the 4 plans and their billing, what 32 users report, the terms to check before your trial ends, and 4 alternatives.
TL;DR#
What it is: a web and social listening tool that tracks your brand, competitors and keywords across social networks, news, blogs, forums and review sites.
Price: Starter $79 a month billed annually or $99 a month billed quarterly, Pro $249 billed annually or $299 billed monthly, Expert $399 or $499, Enterprise from $1,099 or $1,299 (checked Oct 16, 2026).
The billing catch: Starter has no monthly option. Your first charge after the trial is $297 for 3 months, or $948 for a year.
Terms: plans renew for the same term unless you give written notice 3 business days before it ends, and the terms rule out refunds, even for unused time.
Ratings: 5.0 from 64 on Capterra UK and Software Advice, 2.0 from 15 on Trustpilot, and no written reviews on TrustRadius (checked Oct 16, 2026).
My call: Buy BrandMentions Pro if you run SEO or PR for one brand, want blog, forum and review-site coverage with hourly updates, and can cancel or commit inside the 7-day trial. If you want a refund window, Brand24 offers 30 days on standard plans. If you want to find buyers asking for a tool like yours on Reddit, LinkedIn or Slack, CommunityTracker Pro costs $99 a month with no contract.

How I Analyzed BrandMentions#
Reviews: I read 32 reviews: all 15 on Trustpilot and 17 from the Capterra and Software Advice pool. One review appears on both sites under different first names, and I count it once.
Plans: I read the pricing page and its comparison table on Oct 16, 2026, with both the Monthly and Annually toggles.
Terms: I read the BrandMentions Terms of Service on Oct 16, 2026. The page carries no last-updated date, so I date it by my check. Sections 4 to 6 cover subscriptions, renewal and refunds.
Company: I took the operator from the terms and the launch year from the Product Hunt launch.
Rival tools: I compared CommunityTracker, Brand24, Mentionlytics and Awario on prices checked Oct 15, 2026.
Not covered: I have no BrandMentions account, so data quality claims come from users. Capterra US and G2 blocked my access, so I use Capterra UK and leave G2 out.
BrandMentions#

GESKIMO SRL, a company registered in Iasi, Romania, operates BrandMentions under its Terms of Service. The commercial version launched on Product Hunt in 2018. The same founder runs cognitiveSEO, an SEO tool, which explains why so many reviewers use BrandMentions for link building.
You add keywords for your brand, products or competitors, and BrandMentions collects matching posts and pages from social networks, news, blogs, forums and review sites. You then read sentiment, reach and trends in dashboards, get alerts and send reports.
The thesis of this review runs through the billing as much as the product. Users who stay past the first charge rate the product 5.0. Users who get caught at checkout rate the company 1 star. Your job is to land in the first group on purpose.
Features#
Sources: 7+ social networks on Starter and 10+ from Pro, plus news, blogs, forums, Booking, Tripadvisor, Yelp, Google My Business and app stores on every plan.
Unlinked mentions: finds pages that name your brand without a link, which SEO teams turn into backlink outreach. Gary S. uses it to get "instant alerts whenever someone references our brand without a backlink" (Software Advice, Nov 2025).
Sentiment: AI sentiment on every plan, with multilingual sentiment from Pro.
AI Assistant: from Pro, with the AI Brand Assistant on Expert.
Reports: standard reports from Pro, and 100% white-label reports on Expert.
Boolean search: Expert and Enterprise.
Audience demographics: Expert and Enterprise.
Alerts: email alerts on every plan, with daily updates on Starter, hourly on Pro and real time on Expert.
What each plan includes, from the comparison table (Oct 16, 2026):
Feature | Starter | Pro | Expert | Enterprise |
Monthly billing option | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Review sites (Booking, Yelp, Tripadvisor) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Video platforms | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Hourly or faster updates | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Multilingual sentiment | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
AI Assistant | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
White-label reports | No | No | Yes | Yes |
Boolean search | No | No | Yes | Yes |
API | No | No | No | Yes |
Full historical data | No | No | No | Yes |
Features, my read: Starter covers the source list but updates once a day for 1 user, so it suits a solo owner watching one brand. Pro is where the tool matches what most reviewers praise: hourly alerts, video sources and the AI Assistant.
Pricing#

Source: BrandMentions pricing page, brandmentions.com/pricing.php, captured Oct 16, 2026 with the Monthly toggle on. Starter reads "$99 /mo billed quarterly" while Pro, Expert and Enterprise read "billed monthly".
BrandMentions prices in USD, checked Oct 16, 2026:
Starter ($79/month billed annually, $99/month billed quarterly): 5 keywords, 5,000 mentions a month, 3 projects, 1 user, daily updates and 3 months of data retention.
Pro ($249/month billed annually, $299/month billed monthly): 20 keywords, 30,000 mentions, 10 projects, 2 users, hourly updates and 6 months of retention.
Expert ($399/month billed annually, $499/month billed monthly): 50 keywords, 75,000 mentions, 50 projects, 10 users, real-time updates and 12 months of retention.
Enterprise (from $1,099/month billed annually, from $1,299/month billed monthly): custom limits, the API, app white-label and full historical data.
Under the Monthly toggle, Starter is the only plan billed quarterly. So the smallest charge you can sign up for is $297, and the smallest yearly charge is $948.
Per 1,000 mentions, Starter costs $19.80 on quarterly billing and $15.80 on annual. Pro costs $9.97 on monthly billing and $8.30 on annual.
The money rules from the FAQ and the terms:
No overage: BrandMentions never charges past your plan price. At the mention cap, it contacts you about an upgrade.
Trial billing: at the end of the trial, the terms (section 5.1) bill you automatically if your payment details are on file. Upgrading to a paid plan during the trial bills you at once, according to a BrandMentions reply on Trustpilot.
Renewal: each term renews for the same length unless you send written notice to support@BrandMentions.com, from the account owner's email, at least 3 business days before it ends (section 5.2). You can also cancel inside the app (section 6.5).
No refunds: you get no refund even if you never used the service, and BrandMentions "shall not be required to refund any share of the Subscription Fee previously paid" (section 6.6).
Price changes: new payment conditions take effect from your next payment period.
The FAQ answers "Is there a money-back guarantee?" with an offer to "find the best solution for you". The terms say no refunds. Plan around the terms.
Pricing, my read: I'd start on Pro at $299 monthly, because a monthly plan caps your loss at one month. Starter looks cheaper and commits you to 3 months on the first charge.
Pros#
Review sites, forums and blogs on every plan, so a local business or app sees Tripadvisor, Yelp and app store mentions from Starter.
Unlinked mention discovery, so an SEO team gets link-building leads from the same tool.
No overage charges, so a spike in mentions can't raise your bill.
10 users on Expert, so a small PR team can share one account.
Users rate ease of use at 4.7 on Software Advice, and several new users set it up without training.
Cons#
Quarterly Starter billing: the first charge after the trial is $297, and 10 Trustpilot reviewers describe being charged for a quarter or a plan they did not expect.
No refunds: the terms exclude refunds for unused time, and Trustpilot reviewers from 2023 to 2026 report refusals.
Short renewal notice: 3 business days, sent from the owner's email, or the same term renews.
Starter limits: daily updates, 1 user and 3 months of retention.
Manual filtering: several Capterra and Software Advice reviewers spend time removing irrelevant mentions.
Mobile: reviewers describe the mobile experience as hard to use.
Summary#
I think BrandMentions does the monitoring job its users praise, and the risk sits in the first payment. If you decide inside the 7-day trial and pick monthly Pro or a plan you mean to keep, the billing complaints won't apply to you.
Pick it if: you want blog, forum and review-site mentions, unlinked mentions for SEO and no overage bills.
Skip it if: you need a refund window, monthly billing on the entry plan or a mobile-first workflow.
What Real Users Are Saying About BrandMentions in 2026#
I read 32 reviews. The two pools describe different moments: Capterra and Software Advice reviewers write after months of use, and Trustpilot reviewers write about the trial and the first charge.
Capterra UK: 5.0/5 (64 reviews, checked Oct 16, 2026)#
Capterra UK carries 62 five-star and 2 four-star reviews, 100% positive. Ease of use scores 4.7, value for money 4.6 and customer service 4.5. Almost every review dates from September 2025 to September 2026.
Software Advice: 5.0/5 (64 reviews, checked Oct 16, 2026)#
Software Advice draws on the same Gartner pool, with 97% five-star ratings and functionality at 4.7. Treat it and Capterra UK as one data point.
TrustRadius: no written reviews (checked Oct 16, 2026)#
TrustRadius holds a profile and an AI summary, with no written reviews to read.
Trustpilot: 2.0/5 (15 reviews, checked Oct 16, 2026)#

Source: Trustpilot, BrandMentions company page, https://www.trustpilot.com/review/brandmentions.com, captured Oct 16, 2026. The panel reads 2.0 from 15 reviews, 93% 1-star, with a note that the company hasn't invited reviews recently.
On Trustpilot, 14 of the 15 reviews give 1 star, and all 14 concern billing. By date:
2023 (3): Marouane Tourham (Jul 30), Екатерина Личковаха (Aug 2) and Rocky (Aug 12).
2024 (5): Lia (Apr 26), Ruth Fehlinger (Jun 6), Lizzy (Aug 16), Dinh Nhan (Aug 22) and Aaron Ward (Oct 28).
2025 (1): Dex (Oct 8).
2026 (5): Samenthan (Jan 7), Динара Кожахметова (Feb 28), Ramya Betalam (Jun 16), JR (Sep 15) and Aneesa (Sep 29).
Six of the 14 fall inside the Sep 2025 to Sep 2026 window of the Capterra pool, and 8 come before it. The complaints don't show billing getting worse: they run at 1 to 5 a year since 2023. They come from a different group of users, people who left at the trial or the first charge, while the Capterra reviewers had used the tool for months. The one 5-star Trustpilot review, from Liviu Gajora (Oct 6, 2025), praises the product.
What users liked#
Coverage beyond social networks. Andrés wrote that it "Captures discussions from review sites and forums where our audience actually engages" (Capterra UK, Dec 30, 2025).
Mentions you would have missed. Kevin E. wrote: "I also discover unexpected mentions that I would have otherwise missed, giving me a complete picture of our online presence" (Software Advice, Nov 2025).
Unlinked mentions for SEO. Valeria V. wrote that it "helps us find mentions of our brand that aren't linked back to our website" (Software Advice, Nov 2025).
Instant alerts. Verity C. wrote: "I really appreciate how BrandMentions alerts me instantly whenever our brand is mentioned online" (Software Advice, Nov 2025).
Crisis response. Francesca O. wrote that its "sentiment tracking and alert system allow us to identify potential risks before they grow" (Software Advice, Nov 2025).
Mentions without tags. Nina wrote that it finds brand mentions "even when people no tag or link" (Capterra UK, Oct 18, 2025).
Price against enterprise suites. Andrés added that it gives "visibility I couldn't afford with bigger enterprise solutions" (Capterra UK, Dec 30, 2025).
Reputation and risk work. A security reviewer wrote that it "helps us respond more quickly to potential reputation or security concerns" (Capterra UK, Sep 13, 2026).
I believe the coverage and unlinked-mention praise most. It repeats across SEO, PR and retail reviewers, matches the source list on the pricing page, and ties to a concrete use such as link outreach. I weigh the pool as a whole with care: 62 of 64 reviews give 5 stars and almost all arrived within 12 months, which reads like a review drive, so I lean on the specific details more than the score.
What users disliked#
A quarterly charge after the trial. Samenthan wrote: "Their website never indicates that end of the trial at the lower tier will be charge as 3 months, instead of 1 month" (Trustpilot, Jan 7, 2026). BrandMentions replied on Jan 8, 2026 that the quarterly billing is disclosed during signup and at checkout.
A charge on day 1 of the trial. Динара Кожахметова wrote: "They charged me $300 immediately on my first day of free trial and refused to refund" (Trustpilot, Feb 28, 2026). BrandMentions replied that upgrading during the trial triggers payment.
Renewal without notice. JR wrote: "Auto renewal without any notice and zero flexibility on refunds or payment adjustments" (Trustpilot, Sep 15, 2026).
Charged after cancelling. Aneesa wrote: "I cancelled my subscription - even got a confirmation email and was still charged" (Trustpilot, Sep 29, 2026). Ramya Betalam wrote that she cancelled on day 6 of the trial and was charged on day 7 (Trustpilot, Jun 16, 2026).
The no-refund policy in practice. Dex wrote that support "repeatedly referenced their 'no refund' policy" (Trustpilot, Oct 8, 2025).
Sentiment on jargon. Ben wrote: "The sentiment analysis sometimes misreads tech jargon as negative" (Capterra UK, Oct 10, 2025).
Filtering and setup time. Valeria V. wrote that "Filtering out irrelevant mentions can take a little time" (Software Advice, Nov 2025). Ronit wrote that "Getting all the alerts and filters dialed in took me a bit at first" (Capterra UK, Dec 22, 2025).
Mobile and dashboards. Jame C. wrote: "The mobile experience feels clunky and inconvenient" (Software Advice, Sep 2025). Verity C. wanted "more customization options to enhance advanced reporting" (Software Advice, Nov 2025).

Source: Trustpilot, review by Samenthan (SG), 1 star, "it is scam", Jan 7, 2026, https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/695dfd609274a96c8315e98b, captured Oct 16, 2026, with the BrandMentions reply of Jan 8, 2026 below it.
I believe the billing complaints. They repeat from 2023 to September 2026 in many countries, and each one matches a clause in the terms or a line on the pricing page: the quarterly Starter cycle, billing at trial end, renewal on short notice and no refunds. I read "Scam" in their titles as anger. BrandMentions does disclose the quarterly cycle, and the confusion starts when the Monthly toggle shows a quarterly price. The product complaints are mild and match each other, so I believe them too.
Can you trust these ratings in 2026?#
Timing: nearly all 64 Capterra reviews arrived from September 2025 to September 2026, the same month BrandMentions claimed its Trustpilot profile.
One pool: Capterra UK and Software Advice share the same 64 reviews.
Different stages: the 5.0 describes the product after setup, and the 2.0 describes checkout and cancellation.
Replies: BrandMentions replied to every negative Trustpilot review, many of them on one day, Oct 20, 2025, a year or more after the review.
My take: trust the 5.0 on what the tool finds, and trust the 2.0 on what a mistake costs.
Limitations to Know Before You Buy#
1. Starter bills a quarter at a time#
This is the limit I'd check first. The Monthly toggle shows Starter at "$99 /mo billed quarterly", so your first charge is $297. If you want to pay one month at a time, your entry plan is Pro at $299.
2. The trial converts on its own#
Under section 5.1, if your payment details are on file, you're billed when the trial ends. Cancel inside the app before day 7 and keep the confirmation email, since two 2026 reviewers report charges after cancelling.
3. Upgrading during the trial bills you at once#
BrandMentions replied to Динара Кожахметова that choosing a paid plan during the trial starts the subscription. If you only want to test, don't click upgrade.
4. No refunds, even for unused time#
Section 6.6 rules out refunds "regardless of the reasons". Treat every charge as final when you plan your trial.
5. Renewal needs 3 business days' notice#
Each term renews for the same length unless the account owner emails support@BrandMentions.com at least 3 business days before it ends, or cancels in the app. On an annual Starter plan, missing the date costs $948.
6. Starter updates once a day#
Starter refreshes daily for 1 user. Hourly updates start on Pro and real time on Expert, so a crisis team needs Expert.
BrandMentions Alternatives Compared on Price#
Each alternative fixes a different BrandMentions gap: buyers in community threads, a refund window, a no-card trial or a lower cost per mention. Here are the entry plans I priced on Oct 15 and 16, 2026:
Tool | Lowest paid plan | Shortest billing cycle | Refund window |
BrandMentions | Starter, $79/month billed annually, $99 billed quarterly | Quarterly on Starter | None |
CommunityTracker | Starter, $39/month | Monthly | Not stated |
Brand24 | Individual, $199/month billed yearly, $249 billed monthly | Monthly | 30 days on standard plans |
Mentionlytics | Basic, $49/month billed yearly, $59 billed monthly | Monthly | 14 days in full on yearly plans |
Awario | Starter, $29/month billed yearly, $49 billed monthly | Monthly | None for partial use |
Coverage and billing side by side, Yes or No:
Feature | BrandMentions | CommunityTracker | Brand24 | Mentionlytics | Awario |
Review site monitoring | Yes | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Slack and Discord communities | No | Yes | No | No | No |
Finds a verified email for a post's author | No | Yes | No | No | No |
Monthly billing on the entry plan | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Free plan | No | Yes | No | No | No |
White-label reports | Yes | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
BrandMentions Alternative: CommunityTracker#
Source: CommunityTracker homepage, https://www.communitytracker.ai/. I captured it on Oct 15, 2026 for an earlier review and blurred the names and emails in the product mockup.
CommunityTracker is my #1 alternative if you monitor mentions to win customers. BrandMentions tells you who named your brand. CommunityTracker finds posts where someone asks for a product like yours, scores the buying intent, adds the author's contact details and helps you reply.
Its sources are Reddit, LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord, Hacker News, GitHub and Indie Hackers, with partial blog and news coverage (communitytracker.ai/pricing). For the playbook, see my guide to Reddit lead generation.
Features#
Signal detection: AI flags posts that ask for tools, alternatives or fixes in your niche, each with an intent score.
Enrichment: a verified email, LinkedIn profile, company and job title for the author.
Outreach: email sequences, LinkedIn requests and DMs, Reddit replies and AI voice calls, built around the original post.
HubSpot: each lead lands in your CRM along with its source thread.
Community coverage: Slack and Discord groups, covered in my guide to monitoring Slack communities.
Pricing#
Monthly prices with no long-term contract and cancellation at any time, checked Oct 15, 2026 on communitytracker.ai/pricing:
Free ($0): a single Reddit keyword and a daily alert.
Starter ($39/month): Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News and GitHub for 4 keywords, capped at 5,000 mentions and 100 warm emails each month.
Pro ($99/month): 10 keywords on every supported community, no cap on mentions or warm emails, AI scoring, share of voice and a daily Slack alert, with a free trial.
Advanced ($199/month, sold through sales): 20 keywords plus community intelligence, AI visibility and a share of voice export.
Pros#
Monthly billing on every plan, so your first charge is one month, where BrandMentions Starter takes a quarter.
A free plan, so you test one Reddit keyword without a card on file.
Slack and Discord coverage, two sources outside BrandMentions' list.
Finding a buyer, enriching the contact and sending the first message in one tool.
Cons#
No review sites: Tripadvisor, Yelp and app stores stay on BrandMentions.
Partial news and blog coverage: it can't replace BrandMentions for unlinked mentions on blogs.
No PR reporting: no white-label reports or earned media value.
Once-a-day Slack alerts: on Pro and Advanced, a fresh thread may sit for up to 24 hours before you hear of it.
Refund terms not stated: the pricing page names cancellation at any time and no refund policy, so ask before you pay.
No outside reviews yet: G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Trustpilot had no readable CommunityTracker reviews when I looked on Oct 15, 2026.
Summary#
I think CommunityTracker is my pick next to BrandMentions for a SaaS or B2B team whose buyers ask for tools in subreddits and Slack groups. Pro costs $99 a month, billed monthly, which also removes the quarterly risk.
Pick it if: you want leads from community threads with monthly billing.
Skip it if: you need review sites, unlinked blog mentions or PR reports. Run the free Reddit keyword for a week and count the threads worth a reply.
BrandMentions Alternative: Brand24#

Source: Brand24 homepage, brand24.com. I captured it on Oct 15, 2026 for my Mentionlytics review and reuse it here.
Brand24 is the direct fix for the BrandMentions refund problem. It offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on standard plans (custom deals excluded), and its trial runs 14 days with no card. My Brand24 review covers it in full.
Features#
Sources by plan: Individual covers social, news, blogs and Reddit. Team adds LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, Pro adds review sites, newsletters and Twitch, and Business adds podcasts.
AI: every plan scores sentiment, and Pro unlocks the AI Brand Assistant.
Reports: storm alerts come with all plans, and Pro adds white-label and PowerPoint exports.
Pricing#
Brand24 plans, priced Oct 15, 2026:
Individual ($199/month billed yearly, $249 billed monthly): 1 user, 3 keywords, 2,000 mentions, 12-hour refresh.
Team ($299/month billed yearly, $349 billed monthly): unlimited users, 7 keywords, 10,000 mentions, hourly refresh.
Pro ($399/month billed yearly, $499 billed monthly): 12 keywords, 40,000 mentions, real-time refresh.
Business ($599/month billed yearly, $699 billed monthly): 25 keywords, 100,000 mentions, podcasts.
Enterprise (from $1,499/month billed yearly): custom limits in the contract.
Pros#
A 30-day money-back guarantee, against no refunds on BrandMentions.
A 14-day trial with no card, so the trial can't convert into a charge.
No overage charges, matching BrandMentions.
Unlimited users from Team.
Cons#
Individual gives 2,000 mentions for $199 billed yearly, against 5,000 on BrandMentions Starter for $79.
Review sites start on Pro at $399 billed yearly, where BrandMentions includes them on Starter.
API access adds $149 a month on Pro or Business.
Summary#
I'd pick Brand24 if the no-refund clause is what stops you. You pay more per mention and get 30 days to change your mind. See also my Brand24 alternatives list.
Pick it if: you want a refund window and a no-card trial.
Skip it if: you want review sites on the entry plan or the lowest price per mention.
BrandMentions Alternative: Mentionlytics#

Source: Mentionlytics homepage, mentionlytics.com, captured Oct 15, 2026.
Mentionlytics matches BrandMentions on price at the low end and adds monthly billing on its entry plan, a no-card trial and a refund window on yearly plans. My Mentionlytics review has the full plan math.
Features#
Sources: social networks, news, blogs, forums, review sites and the web, with podcasts on Pro.
Competitors: competitor monitoring from Essential, and share of voice from Advanced.
AI: the Social Intelligence Advisor, emotion analysis and anomaly detection from Advanced.
Pricing#
Mentionlytics plans, priced Oct 15, 2026:
Basic ($49/month billed yearly, $59 billed monthly): 5,000 mentions from 3 keyword rules, for 2 users.
Essential ($141/month billed yearly, $169 billed monthly): 10 rules, 15,000 mentions, competitor monitoring.
Advanced ($249/month billed yearly, $299 billed monthly): 15 rules, 50,000 mentions, unlimited users, reports.
Pro ($416/month billed yearly, $499 billed monthly): podcasts, the API and custom reports.
Pros#
Basic bills monthly at $59 for the same 5,000 mentions BrandMentions Starter bills quarterly.
A 14-day trial with no card that expires on its own.
A full refund within 14 days on yearly plans, and a pro-rata refund to day 30.
Cons#
On monthly billing, the month you are in is not refundable.
Mentionlytics' own pages disagree on Pro pricing and trial limits.
Basic allows 2 users and 3 keyword rules, so a team starts on Essential.
Summary#
I'd look at Mentionlytics if you want BrandMentions' price range with an easier way out. Basic at $59 billed monthly replaces the $297 first charge with a $59 one.
Pick it if: you want monthly billing on the entry plan and a no-card trial.
Skip it if: you need unlinked mentions for SEO as a core feature.
BrandMentions Alternative: Awario#

Source: Awario homepage, awario.com, captured Oct 15, 2026.
Awario gives the most mentions for the money and a trial that needs no card. Starter collects 30,000 new mentions a month for $29 billed yearly, 6 times BrandMentions Starter's 5,000. Read my Awario review for the details.
Features#
Topics: unlimited keywords inside each topic.
Sources: X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo, blogs, forums, news and the web.
Analysis: sentiment, share of mentions, reach and top influencers.
Pricing#
Awario plans, priced Oct 15, 2026:
Starter ($29/month billed yearly, $49 billed monthly): 3 topics, 30,000 new mentions, 1 user.
Pro ($89/month billed yearly, $149 billed monthly): 15 topics, 300,000 new mentions, 10 users, exports and PDF reports.
Enterprise ($249/month billed yearly, $399 billed monthly): 100 topics, 1,000,000 new mentions, white-label reports and the API.
Pros#
$0.97 per 1,000 mentions on Starter billed yearly, against $15.80 on BrandMentions Starter billed annually.
A trial with no card that expires on its own.
Monthly billing on every plan.
Cons#
No refund for partial use, the same as BrandMentions.
No TikTok, LinkedIn or podcasts in its source list.
Stored mentions per topic are capped, so the oldest drop off.
Summary#
I'd pick Awario if mention volume matters most. Its trial can't bill you, though its paid plans are as final as BrandMentions'. More options sit in my Awario alternatives and Mention review.
Pick it if: you want the lowest cost per mention and a no-card trial.
Skip it if: unlinked mentions for SEO drive your brief.
For a wider list, see my roundups of social listening tools and free social listening tools. If you only need free email alerts, read how Google Alerts work.
Final Verdict: Is BrandMentions Worth It in 2026?#
Yes, for an SEO or PR team that tracks one brand and wants blogs, forums, review sites and unlinked mentions with no overage bills, and that decides inside the 7-day trial. Users who get past setup rate the product 5.0, and their praise is specific.
No, if you want to test month to month on the entry plan or need a refund window. Starter bills $297 a quarter, the terms rule out refunds, and 14 Trustpilot reviewers from 2023 to 2026 describe charges they did not expect.
What I'd do:
Start the trial without clicking upgrade, and set a reminder for day 5.
If you plan to stay, pick Pro on monthly billing at $299, or a yearly plan you are sure about.
If you plan to leave, cancel in the app and keep the confirmation email.
If a refund window matters, use Brand24's 30 days instead.
If you came to BrandMentions to find people asking for a product like yours, CommunityTracker Pro does that for $99 a month, billed monthly.
